The magazine highlights tips and trends for tall boot buyers, with headlines about risks and rewards in horse riding, leg strategies, parasite resistance, and U.S. team medals.

Training and Competition

While many riders scale back their competitive frequency over time, Sally remains one of the most active competitors on the East Coast.

She seamlessly maintains her dual-base operations—wintering in Aiken, SC and spending the rest of the season in Oxford, PA—allowing her to successfully compete year-round while continuing to be a highly sought-after clinician and trainer for professionals, adult amateurs and rising eventers.

Sally has successfully campaigned multiple prominent horses at the Advanced, Advanced/Intermediate, and international FEI level including completions at some of the most prestigious 5* events in the world, including Burghley, Badminton and Kentucky.

While I love competing at the highest levels of our sport, I am equally passionate about developing the next generation of horses and riders.

My coaching philosophy is rooted in the foundational lessons passed down by my own legendary mentors. I firmly believe in the power of cross-discipline training, having studied under master horsemen across multiple fields:

  • Eventing: Mike Plumb, Bruce Davidson, and Torrance Watkins

  • Show Jumping: Frank Chapot, Anne Kursinski, and George Morris

  • Dressage: Gunnar Ostergaard, Donnan Sharp, and Scott Hassler
